To Market, To Market

Hey there, Friends! The first day we explored Cairns, we happened upon a market. You all know that I am a sucker for markets of any variety; especially ones that involve fresh fruits and veggies and local handmade crafts. This market was my "cuppa tea"!
It was so colorful and filled with people from around the world!
There was even a live band playing while we rested our weary legs a bit.
As we were resting, we rehydrated with a coconut :) (I still claim that this coconut was the BEST part of my vacation)
We loved this sign! It was fun to see the direction in which key points on our journey were. I love the relationship to New York too!
This day was fun, but the next day was even better! Join me tomorrow for a blog that involves fish, coral, and a bit of drama (sea sickness!)
Enjoy today!

To Cairns We Go!

Hey Friends! It's been a while, but I am back and ready to blog! This is my girly, Destiny on the airplane, flying to Cairns! The flight crew gave her special 3D glasses that went with an activity book that she received. She had so much fun playing with them on the flight. One of my favorite parts of flying was that our take off from Canberra was early enough to catch a glimpse of the Hot Air Balloon Festival that was going on in Canberra. We saw about 8 hot air balloons flying high in the sky as we left our "home".
Upon arriving in Cairns, I couldn't help but notice the luscious green foliage and the beautiful flowering plants. This was a flower right outside of the door of our accommodation.
After unpacking, we NEEDED to have a coffee break! The girls had their babychinos and Matt had a special coffee. The cup-ring on Destiny's face was too funny to not take a picture! She looks thrilled about it too, doesn't she?!
Here is the beautiful bit of ocean we were staying by. Our "home for the week" was about 1 block from here :)
I came back from running along the beach on the first day I was there and mentioned to Matt that I felt a bit scared that a crocodile was going to come out and snap at me. This sign justified my fear!
And this is just the beginning of our vacation. Stay tuned for more...We have the Great Barrier Reef and the Rain Forrest coming up!
Enjoy today!

March 19, 2005

Today, we are going back in time...to March 19, 2005. It's hard to believe that 7 years ago I was entering a church to be married. The above picture is of the night we got engaged, Oct 14, 2004. We had dinner at a nice restaurant and then walked through Pioneer Square in Seattle where Matt proposed in the moonlight!
We were married March 19th, 2005 at the church I grew up going to in Williston, ND.
We had a small and lovely wedding on a day filled with snow flurries. Snow storms kept a few of our family members from attending, but we were tremendously blessed by those who were there.
I spent a bit of time searching through our "old" pictures online and these are the ones I found of our wedding. I was also surprised to find some of our honeymoon in Mexico!
Matt and I after a horse ride to waterfalls. It was truly beautiful and I loved the Mexican cookies that we were offered nearly every day! I still can't believe I rode a horse in flip flops!
Amazing trees (I saw some trees like this in Cairns just last week and it made me think of our honeymoon)
Mexican Lemonade on the beach!
On our horse/waterfall adventure!
It's so hard to believe that it has been 7 years, but this year we really celebrated, by going to Cairns and taking in the Great Barrier Reef and the Rain Forrest.
Here's to 7 more years...and many more after that ;)
Enjoy today!

What time is it?!

Science Time!!! The girls and I attend a special science class once every three weeks with some of our buddies from play group. This week's lesson was on "Moving Toys". The girls love going to the science center here and I feel like it's necessary to take advantage of living near a wonderful place for my girls to learn all about science.
The teacher asked, "What kinds of toys move?" Destiny raised her hand and answered, "Balls!" In the picture above, we used a tennis ball to demonstrate that balls can move. They roll, bounce, and you can push them through the air by throwing them in any direction.
Their favorite part comes at the end: Parachute time!
Here are the girls with their two play group buddies playing games with the parachute!
We ended the morning by having tea in the special "members only room". What a fun morning!
Off to dance now! tata!
Enjoy today!

The Handsomest Fellow There Ever Was

Hey friends! Aren't those the cutest toes you have ever seen. So I have emailed many of you and posted these pictures to my facebook, but the blog was feeling a bit neglected. So here is our little man - blog style! Last Thursday I was blessed with an extensive ultrasound, looking at all of baby's organs. He is all around healthy looking. He has all 10 fingers and all 10 toes (even though it was difficult to count the fingers because his hands were in fists the entire time!)
Here he's playing peek-a-boo! Cute little lips and nose! While we were looking at his head/face, he kept making an "o" shape out of his lips. It was just too cute!
Here is a cute profile of mister bub. He sure is a cutie and it was great to have the ultrasound tech tell us he is 100% boy!
Little Tid-bits about baby boy:
He is measuring at his due date (which is great!)
He is going to have two middle names (after both of his Grandpa's middle names) Lawrence (Matt's dad) and Ray (my dad).
You'll have to wait on the first name...so far we cannot agree. At. All.
His nursery theme is going to be Trains, Planes, and Automobiles (Submarine's too)
His sisters keep asking me WHEN CAN HE COME OUT!
He's a busy body in the evenings (or maybe I just feel him the most then because I'm a bit more still at that time)
When I drink lemonade and it always gets him bouncing around in there!
It's so fun to be expecting our first baby boy! We love him so much already!
Enjoy today!

Rainy Day Stuff

Hey Friends! With all of the rain lately, my camera has been on vacation. We have spent many hours indoors doing art projects and bouncing on the bouncy house in our dining room. How do you spend your rainy days? I never think to take pictures when we are just hanging out at home. This is a hot chocolate from one of our outings. Yum.
Addi and Destiny got cupcakes as an extra special treat :)
It's a school day over here, so that means our morning is a bit rushed. Chores are done, bellies are fed, girls are dressed, now it's just time to take care of myself before we hurry out the door and go to the school.
Guess what!? The sun is shining so we will be biking to school today! hooray!
Enjoy today!
