Doin' the Disco!

Hey Friends! It's a happy {rainy} Thursday over here. Dusty dog refused to go for a walk with me, but I went out there in the rain! It felt great to walk!
Last week, Destiny had her first Disco at school! It was 80's themed. $5 and she got a glow stick and hot dog! She wanted to dance all night even though her age group was only allowed to stay for 45 minutes. ha! Both of the girls had a blast!
Dancing!
Mommy and Addi on the dance floor!
I think their favorite part was a toss up between the dancing and the hot dogs! They each ate two hot dogs!
What a fun way to end the first term at school!
Enjoy today!

The Science Sisters!

Hey friends! Last week the girls and I took a trip to the local Science Centre. The girls LOVE Questacon! We spent some time in MiniQ, a children's area catered to the creative minds of children ages 1 to 6. The girls loved the veterinarian station. They used all of the doctor instruments to check on a variety of animals, including a wombat!
Bunnies were checked on too!
Dr. Addi even looked at a fish x-ray to diagnose the problem!
This week was particularly busy so we took in a science show about "music" and visited a new exhibit!
The girls loved the new area, it's really dark in there with exciting lights! We can't wait for the next term of Science Time; the science class that the girls participate in.
Tata for now! Enjoy today!

Pickles and Ice Cream

Hey Friends! Today I'm taking a moment to share with you a bit about my pregnancy! I have a few pictures from recent weeks. The most recent picture was taken yesterday as we were on a 8 mile walk :)
Although I titled this post "Pickles and Icecream", that is NOT what I am craving. The title really should be something like "hot sauce, jalepenos, home-made sweets and potatoes". To Matt's surprise, I haven't had any STRANGE cravings this pregnancy! I have done a pretty good job to continue to eat healthy. For the last trimester, my goal is to up my protein intake! I see many eggs and much yogurt in my future.
Luckily, I won't have to worry too much about what I eat because I passed my sugar test! yay! With all the sweets I have been eating and my dad's recent diagnosis of diabetes, I had a bit more of a fear of having gestational diabetes. Thank goodness I am in the clear! Now, bring on the cake! haha!
Easter fell around week 25 for me this time around. With Addi it was closer to week 29. I wanted to wear the same Easter dress that I wore when I was expecting Addi, but it seems I'm a bit too small for it yet. {not a bad thing!}
In the quiet moments of the evening, the baby moves around quite a lot. At my last doctor appointment, our doctor told me that the baby was head-up! When he is in this position I find that I am a bit short of breath. I am looking forward to some kicks in the ribs instead of a head in the diaphram!
We had an ultrasound last week and baby was looking handsome as ever! We sure can't wait to meet him. Addi is still calling him "Baby Jesus" and Destiny likes, "Aaron" or "Tatum" or some other inventive names that sound a bit more like a good name for an alien! The girls often kiss him and ask me if he has anything to "say" to them. They just can't wait to meet him!
26 weeks marks the end of trimester two! I made it, guys! When I first found out I was expecting, I made a goal to keep running until my third trimester. I am feeling so good at this point that I will continue to run for a while longer. However, the weather is changing and my joints may not be able to cope with the extra weight I am packing so I will mostly try to run when the temps are nice. Wouldn't it be something if I could run up until my due date! Wow! I hope that happens :) Just to clarify, I am not out there running marathons or anything like that...just anywhere between 5 to 10 miles per week. I have started working more and more on my birthing exercises as well. It feels good to prepare for the "marathon" of labor and delivery!
That's all the "baby" info. I can think of for now! I will be back with another "baby" post after my baby shower this weekend!
Destiny is out of school for the next couple of weeks so we are enjoying some family time! I really enjoyed not having to pack her lunch, get her uniform ready, etc. etc.! This morning has been a breeze!
Enjoy today!

Pancakes and Movies

Hey Friends! For homework this term, Destiny was instructed to make a "healthy" snack. So we made pancakes one day!
The girls LOVE to stir.
Destiny asks for pancakes a few times per week so it was fun to let them take the whisk and spoon and mix it up themselves!
On Good Friday, Matt and I took the girls to see The Lorax.
They loved the Lorax, but are WAY more excited about Beauty and the Beast in 3D! They can't wait (and neither can I!).
We are off to swim lessons today!
Enjoy today!

Hoppy Easter

Hey Friends! It seems, whenever a holiday rolls around my camera is in full action. I have tons of Easter pictures and want to share with you a bit of our Easter Morning. Here are the girls' Easter baskets with the carrot (gnawed on by the bunny) and a letter from the Easter Bunny himself!
The girls love their Lalaloopsy dolls!
The Easter Bunny dropped a few eggs on his way our of the door. The girls had no trouble at all finding them!

They really enjoyed their BIG chocolate bunnies too!
Later in the day, we join Matt's boss and office family for an egg hunt and yummy dinner.
This egg hunt was set up like a scavenger hunt for each of the kids. Addi and Destiny loved finding the eggs using the clues that Matt's boss made up!
Destiny with her loot from the hunt!
Addi holding her chocolate Easter Bilby (In Australia, it is said that the Easter Bilby delivers the Easter baskets for children instead of the Easter Bunny!)
What a fun Easter! I hope your was as wonderful as ours!
Enjoy today!

Pot Pourri of Pics

Hey Friends! It's time to take some cute pictures off of my camera! This is Addi standing by a tree waiting for the sausage sizzle at Church.
23 weeks pregnant! {This was a couple of weeks ago. I am now 25 weeks pregnant and will have an updated picture in a few of days!}
We found "drinking coconuts" in our local shops! A little taste of our Cairns vacation!
Hats and mittens sewn by my beautiful cousin Lili! They are so awesome! Thanks a million times!
Matt receiving an award at the U.S. Ambassador's home here in Canberra. His award was for all the work he did with the transportation during President Obama's visit to Canberra.
The girls enjoyed the cookie snack after waiting "forever" for daddy to receive his award!
Here are the girls with some of their friends painting Easter eggs at the park! It was such a beautiful sunny day!
That's all, folks! We were blessed to spend the morning chatting with my Grandma and Great Auntie Mona over Skype so now it's time to begin the Monday morning chores! Matt is off work and Dest is off school for Easter Monday! I hope you have all enjoyed your Easter holiday.
Enjoy today!

Easter {in pictures}

Happy Easter! From our family to yours!
