Papa's Day

Hey, hey!  How was your Father's Day last weekend?  Did you do something special for that Papa in your life.  I woke up EARLY and made Matty breakfast in bed.  Eggs, French toast, Fruit Salad with yogurt and honey and a cappuccino.  I think he enjoyed it before he rushed out the door to help out with sound at church.  The girls were so upset with me for not waking them up to do breakfast in bed with daddy that they insisted we have lunch in bed too!
We made green salad and fruit salad for daddy's lunch in bed!  Two meals in bed in one day...lucky daddy!
For our evening meal, we did another chopped challenge!  We really enjoy a television show on the food network called "Chopped" where chefs are given mystery items in a basket and have to prepare 3 courses with these mystery items.  I made our main course and the mystery items were: Jerusalem artichokes, rhubarb, choko, and blue fish.  C'mon!  Those were some tough ingredients!

I made citrus basil blue fish with a rhubarb citrus sauce, potato and Jerusalem artichoke soup topped with Parmesan cheese and crustinis topped with a choko, rhubarb, onion relish.  It wasn't SO bad! haha!  Actually the soup tastes incredible and the fish cooked perfectly!
Matty made dessert!  In his basket: pickled jalapenos, molasses, corn cakes, and Parmesan cheese!
mmmmm..Parmesan cheese!
Matty was ambitious and made corn cup cakes from scratch...no recipe...topped with an apple and jalapeno chutney and decorated with a Parmesan cheese crisp!  Such a talented man!

As always, it was a blast to have a chopped challenge, but a little stressful as you only have 40 minutes to create your masterpiece!

The girls and I are off to learn about chicken and eggs at Science class!

In a Nutshell

Wow!  I have so many pictures on my camera and none of them really make sense together so here goes; this is last week "in a nutshell"!  Above is a picture of the girls with their teddy bears for Teddy Bear Story Time at the Library.  The girls loved bringing along their bears for the special story time.
Dance class!  Destiny is getting ALL ready for her big performance on Saturday!  She's gonna do great!
Addi loved sitting with the "big girls" while they watched Destiny dance.
Addi doing "art". Cutting, Pasting, Coloring!  Oh the joys of art!
I babysat for a friend and this is what she brought me!  Oh, such yummy cookies!  I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends!
Our farmer's market trip last weekend!  We really stocked up!  All the fruit and veg plus lamingtons and chocolate chip muffins!  Gotta love the Farmer's Market!

That's last week "in a nutshell".  So far, this week is just as good as last!  Hope you are having a good one too!

A fish out of water

Hey Friends!  It looks like we have 2 fish on our hands.  Or maybe they are mermaids!  Addi graduated to the next level in swimming lessons last week.  Her graduation came just in time.  Next term she will start swimming by herself and I will not have to go into the pool with her!  I certainly am happy about that because I will have baby to look after at that point!  She is very excited and we are so very proud of her!
We are off on our daily adventures!

Enjoy today!

Catching Up!

Hello Friends!  A special "hi" from Addi today!  I am playing catch up because the blog was misbehaving for the last couple of days!  Here's hoping that this posts correctly {fingers crossed}!
Last week, the girls dinned in our cram packed living room.  Matt and I spent the weekend with rug doctor in hand!  We cleaned our carpets and our new van!  It feels so good to have clean carpets that are ready for a baby to crawl all over them!
The girls loved jumping from love seat to couch over the table to the next couch!  What fun!
When the floors were clean, it was time to play.  Addi dressed as Lady from Lady and the Tramp.
Addi drew her first ever FACE!  Circle head, dots for eyes, and a line for a mouth!  Looks pretty good!  I love seeing how their "people" drawings progress over time.
Last week, the girls were so excited for swim lessons that they were dressed and ready to go to them by 7:30 AM.  Their lessons don't start until 10 AM!  ha!

Now that I'm all caught up, I'll see ya tomorrow with some more fun pictures!

A special Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers out there; especially to my daddy, Matt, and our Grandfathers!

Enjoy today!

Paint My Toes...I Can Barely See Them!

Hey Friends!  35 weeks and I can no longer paint my toe nails.  It's a sad day; but luckily for me, I have a handsome hunk of a man who paints them for me when times are tough!  What a guy!
Here my big baby boy belly is!  35 weeks!  Things are going pretty well.  I still feel great and baby is doing pretty good!  I saw the doc yesterday and he said that baby has gone from head down to transverse (AGAIN!) so our baby boy needs some mega prayers!  He's really been "all over the place" and now it's time that he needs to settle into a head-down position.  I've officially hung up my running shoes and traded them in for walking, spin biking and (hopefully) swimming shoes! {I don't really wear shoes when I swim! ha!}  I could use a bit of a break from running; and why not in the last month in pregnancy!  I am looking forward to starting back up though after baby arrives!
The girls are both getting really excited and the count down is on for my mom's arrival.  Nearly 20 days and she will be here!  Our bags are packed and we are set to head to the hospital when the moment arises.

Today has been very busy so it's time for me to have a bit of quiet time myself!  We started the day off in the city at the dentist and then headed straight to Teddy Bear day at Library Story Time and soon we are off to dance class!  I hope your day is as fun as mine!

Enjoy today!

Dinosaur ROAR!

Hey Friends!  Last Friday the girls and I went on an adventure to the Dinosaur Museum here in Canberra with a few of our friends!  The girls loved seeing and learning about all the dinos.
Addi even became a dino hatching from her egg.
Addi with the croc.  The museum was small but pretty nice.  The girls enjoyed hanging out with their friends, but their favorite part of the day was going to have cupcakes at a nearby cupcake shop.
 YUMMY!
She can't get the wrapper off fast enough!
Some impromptu ring-around-the-rosy in the cupcake shop!

What a fun day!
Enjoy today!

Miss D

Hey Friends!  June is Destiny's birthday month so it's pretty appropriate to have a blog all about my little sweetie!  Destiny turns 5 this month and I find myself thinking about how the time has passed so quickly.  Destiny is still loving school.  She really enjoys her friends, teachers, and the activities they do.
Can you pick out Destiny's caterpillar?  HINT: her name is written VERY big!
This week has been full of fun events for Dest.  She graduated to the next level is swimming lessons.  She passed her test and is good to move on up!  I couldn't believe how well she was swimming!  She just amazes me.  She even got a certificate and she was so impressed that they knew she liked flowers and stars (there were flower and star stickers on it!).
Dance class is still going very well; they are preparing for their winter concert in 2 weeks time.
Destiny loved the concert flyer, but wouldn't let me get a picture of her face with it!  She is so excited to dance on stage again!  If you are in Canberra area and would like to see my little pumpkin dance, contact me and I'll give you the info.

The girls and I are off to the dinosaur museum today!  I hope it's good!
Enjoy today!
