The Greatest Show in the West

Hello there, friends! Happy Tuesday in the States and I hope all my Aussie friends are sleeping well right now!

I woke up at 5 this morning to take an exercise class so I am ready for a nap! I love having productive mornings. After an early morning work out, I am more willing to get busy and get things done around the house! This morning, we were off to my Great Auntie's house. I love visiting her so much! I especially love that she is the only person on Earth that can convince me that eating a 2 lb. bag of peanut m and m's is healthy for me because there are peanuts in them!! peanuts = healthy {even when coated in chocolate!} :) Gotta love the logic behind that!

Now that the girls are all snuggled in their beds for nap time, it is my time to write to you!

In the middle of last week, my family took off on a mini vacay to see the Greatest Show in the West : The Medora Musical. There is a small town in North Dakota that is nestled at the entrance of a national park in the Badlands. This town in called Medora. It's a little tourist town, complete with an Old West feel, little trinket shops, trail rides, and of course, The Greatest Show in the West. I spent the summer of 2004 working in Medora as a call center specialist and selling tickets at the musical. I really enjoyed my time spent there and will ALWAYS jump on the opportunity of going back for a visit.

We started off our trip with a pit stop in Beach, ND. This is where my Uncle and Aunt live with their 3 children. One of their children was at Summer camp! {We sure missed you, Jenae! Hope you had a fun time at camp!} It's always fun to stop off in Beach and spend some time at their place! My Aunt made us a beautiful lunch filled with veggies from her garden!

My brother in law was playing around with my camera and got this nice snap shot of cousin Josiah!

Our arrival in Medora. First stop: Ticket Junction.

Next stop: Our hotel rooms. Josiah and Caelic both took turns climbing the tree right outside our room.

The kids went for a play at the park, while the adults looked around in the shops.

I love all of the "landscaping" involving old parts of bathrooms, antique farming equipment and saddlery supplies.

After a lovely meal and a down pour of rain outside, we headed up to the amphitheatre to see if, "the show must go on" despite the rain. Just as we arrived atop the hill, the sky cleared and we had nice weather for the duration of the musical. {We just had to towel off our seat prior to sitting}

Josiah holding Addi up so she can see the stage.

There's singing, dancing, music,

patriotism,

and it all just feels a bit like "home" for me! If you ever get the chance to see the Medora Muscial...take it! It will not disappoint!

On our last day in Medora, we hung around waiting for the train driver to come give us a ride, but he never showed, so we opted for a cute picture of Grandma and her girls!

It was a GREAT trip! Thanks to every one who came along with us!
