On the hunt for the Nene

Hello Friends!  While in Hawaii,we spent a morning at the zoo with my Great Aunt Merilyn.  The girls were on a hunt for the Nene Goose because Merilyn had given them a book about the goose. First we saw some brightly colored birds.
Some orangutans.
A cheeky turtle that enjoyed our attention.
The giraffes were beautiful!
A feisty peacock.
Finally, we found the Nene Goose.

We had a fun day walking around the zoo and enjoying the animals and time spent with Great Aunt Merilyn.

I'll be back tomorrow with the rest of our Hawaii adventure!
Enjoy today!

Hula Hula Hula

While in Hawaii, we were blessed to see some friends and our dear Great Aunt Merilyn.  She resides in Las Vegas, NV but was spending a couple of months vacationing in Hawaii.  She read a beautiful book to the girls and Addi enjoyed it so much that she fell right asleep in Merilyn's arms.
We had dinner with Great Aunt Merilyn and some of her traveling friends from England.
The sunset was beautiful at dinner.

When we arrived back to our hotel, there was entertainment near the pool and a happy hour again :)
The next morning, we set out to the airport at 5 AM.  We were greeted at the airlines by a man telling us to "go back home"...um...We were actually trying to get "HOME".  ha!  We went in and checked on our flight and sure enough it was cancelled.  The airlines put us up in a hotel with all meals paid for 2 days!  woo-hoo!  The hotel gave us a corner room with views of the ocean and pool.  We really couldn't ask for more!
This is our pool view!
French fry teeth!
Funny faces with  momma!
Daddy and his little man.
More time at the beach.

On our beach walk, we ran into some beautiful women dancing the hula.  The girls enjoyed watching the dancers.

What a fun extension of our vacation...there will be more pictures tomorrow!

Enjoy today!

Aloha!

Hello Friends!  We landed safely in Hawaii and the kids and I enjoyed some time hanging in the family lounge at the airport while Matt got the rental car.  Olli put on his Hawaiian shirt :)
The girls quickly changed into dresses and played outside!
Olli and Daddy
My pineapple!  First of much pineapple.  It's amazing how much pineapple I can consume in 4 days!
We stayed at the Embassy Suites the first two nights we were in Hawaii.  We were greeted with a tropical drink and enjoyed happy hour each night and a BIG breakfast in the morning!
Matt happy at the Happy Hour!
Sweet Olli enjoying being out of his car seat!
All of us ladies got matching leis!
Destiny and Addi loved the pool!
They loved the beach too!
One of my favorite parts of staying at a hotel is ROOM SERVICE!
Me and Oliver at the beach.
The girls loved to chase the waves.
It's just so beautiful!
The second day we were there, we met up with some friends who recently moved there from Canberra.  What a treat to see the Jones family again!

I'll be back tomorrow with more of our Hawaiian adventure!

Enjoy today!

Air Planes and Chuck E. Cheese

Hey Friends!  The girls were so excited to have a play at Chuck E. Cheese; especially after seeing commercials for it on tv!  Lucky girls!
They loved all the rides and games.

A basketball picture for their Pa (the basketball coach!)
Our time spent in California was on an Air Force Base.  There were many airplanes on display!
It was fun to drive through and see them all.

I took this picture for my cousin's son, MAC.  The plane has your name on it! (look in the blue stripe, it's written in yellow!)
The, my friends, is the plane that we flew to Hawaii on.  Do you see the white stairs that are this side of the wing?  Those are the stairs we had to climb to get to the top of the airplane where we sat.

This flight was awesome.  Keep in mind it's free!  They served us coffee, cheezits, and full cans of soda!  wow!

I'll be back tomorrow with some island paradise!

Enjoy today!

It's always rainy in San Fransisco

After leaving North Dakota, we headed over to the West coast to catch our flight back home.  First we spent a few days in the San Fran area.  It rained.

We loved the hilly streets and...
seeing a trolley.
It really made me feel like I was on the set of Full House (remember that show from TGIF?!?)
Such pretty buildings.
First stop was one of my fave stores to exchange somethings and buy a couple of extra goodies.  Gotta love Lululemon!
Next stop: the Golden Gate Bridge!
We tried really hard to get a family picture but...
We just couldn't fit everyone in.
Me and the kiddies.
Alcatraz!  It looked kinda spooky all cloud covered like that.
Me and my love!
We took a trip down the crookedest road on Earth.
That was a fun way to end our time in San Fran.

What fun memories :)

Enjoy today!
