Fancy Dinner

Hey friends!  The other night, the girls and I set out to have a fancy dinner.  They set the table using "real" plates (not their plastic ones), "mommy" silverware, and wine glasses to drink from.  We even lit a special candle and dressed our apple juice with parasols.  We got all dressed up in our fanciest hats; we were getting ready for our "special guests".  The girls didn't realize that THEY were the special guests until I told them to go outside and knock on the door.
Opening the door, I introduced myself as Miss Daisy Mae and the girls came up with names all their own.  It was fun to chat with them in character.  They even told Miss Daisy Mae that sometimes their mommy is mean to them...like when she makes them clean up their toys.  Oh my!
The girls ate SO good that night and even though it was a week ago, they are still talking about the fun we had and they remember their names they made up! Their favorite made up name = Sir Criesalot; that is what we called Ollie for the evening.  However, he didn't cry one bit so we had to change his name to Sir Giggleandwiggle :)
It's amazing what kinds of secrets your children will share with you if you just play pretend with them and make them pink ice cream; of course!

This was one of the best days of my life so far!  I am looking forward to many, many more!

Enjoy today!
